Goals / Remit
The Sports Rights Owners Coalition (“SROC”) is a forum of 50 international and national sports bodies and competition organisers with a particular focus on rights issues.
The income generated by selling rights makes possible the reinvestement into grassroots.
SROC's aims are:
•to enable dialogue and sharing of best practices on key legal, political and regulatory issue
•to raise awareness of new developments and innovation in sports rights
•to take joint action to protect and promote its members' rights
SROC seeks proper recognition of the value of sport from Governments across the world, and effective protection for their rights under law.Main EU files targeted
SROC follows all legislative work, consultation processes and events / conferences linked to IPR, audio-visual policy and betting/gambling.

As an informal coalition, SROC does not have any budget of its own. Expenses (running a website, organisations of meetings etc) are covered on an ad hoc basis by SROC members individually. Potential extraordinary costs (e.g., organisation of a conference/seminar, commission of a study) would simply be split among SROC members.

Sport has the power to bring together nations, religions and people of all ages.
Sport makes a real difference to peoples’ lives and delivers huge economic and social benefits at national and local level.
SROC members believe that Governments and international organisations should fully recognise, protect and promote the special nature of sport and sports rights.
