    Goals / Remit

Europa Distribution is the international association of independent film publishers and distributors, created in 2006. With 120 leading independent distributors representing 31 countries in Europe and beyond, it acts as a network, a think tank and serves as the voice of the sector.

For close to 20 years, it has been creating opportunities for its members to share knowledge and pool experience through dedicated networking sessions. It constantly works to enhance the circulation of information and ideas between distributors and to improve the promotion and distribution of independent films.

ED also acts as the voice of the sector in Brussels and regularly participates, in its capacity as a recognised spokesperson for independent film distribution, in round tables and consultations with the main European associations and institutions involved in the audio-visual sector, to ensure that the priorities and concerns of its members are taken into consideration by policy makers.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
