EBLIDA is the European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation Associations. We are an independent umbrella association of national library, information, documentation and archive associations and institutions in Europe.
EBLIDA is the community and networking hub for all library organisations in Europe striving
towards a sustainable, democratic and equitable society.
Mission
EBLIDA’s mission is:
• to promote a sustainable society where citizens in Europe enjoy freedom of
expression and free access to information, education and culture;
• to engage libraries in maintaining a high level of democratic participation of all
European citizens in the political debate based on verified information in order to
reinforce social cohesion, individual accomplishment and economic development;
• to advocate for equitable access to library collections and resources by pursuing a
