Communication activities
For the time being the interactions of the Bektashi community with the European institutions have been limited. His Excellency Edmond Brahimaj(Baba Mondi) met several times members of the LIBE Committee. The topics discussed relate to fundamental rights, minorities’ rights and the freedom of religion in certain countries. The last meeting with MEP Josef Weidenholzer (S&D) took place in September 2017. It was devoted to the protection of the Bektashi monasteries in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
With the establishment of a permanent office in Brussels in August 2018, the Bekhashi community aims to intensify its participation and contribution to different European initiatives and activities.
It plans to join soon some of the EP intergroups, in particular the European Parliament Intergroup on Freedom of Religion or Belief and Religious Tolerance.Other activities
