    Goals / Remit

Technip is a world leader in the fields of project management, engineering and construction for the oil & gas industry. With 30,000 employees and present in 46 countries, Technip has operating centers and industrial assets (manufacturing plants, construction yard) on the five continents. The company has also developed over the years a recognized expertise in the metals and mining sector, with numerous successfully completed or ongoing projects for the treatment of uranium, nickel, alumina or phosphate . Technip typically provides its services in a series of phases, which may be modified to suit the complexity of process development and Customer’s requirements, including conceptual studies, Pre-feasibility, Bankable Feasibility Studies or EPCM. In support of its Mining & Metals activities, Technip holds several proprietary technologies including Dorr-Oliver FluoSolids® roasting and calcining, Krebs mixer-settler, Rotary kilns or MECS sulfuric acid process.

Technip is also highly committed to future innovative and creative developments, is active in and monitors closely the challenging technical and environmental requirements and opportunities within the future deepwater mining projects. Since 2005, Technip is devoting important efforts to research and development in this new domain of intervention. Because the subsea mining activity harnesses the broader Group’s industrial and offshore assets developed over the last thirty years for subsea Oil & Gas Fields, Technip has been confirmed by as a key player for Seafloor Massive Sulphide exploration in providing riser technologies for Nautilus Minerals and developing screening and conceptual studies for Neptune Minerals or JOGMEC.
