    Goals / Remit

Free Software Foundation Europe is a charity that empowers users to control technology. It is dedicated to the furthering of Free Software, and works to promote freedom in the emerging digital society.

FSFE works to build awareness for Free Software - software which anyone may use, study, share and improve - and its benefits for individuals and organisations.

We work to increase knowledge about technology, and to build and environment in which software innovation and businesses can thrive. This includes promoting helpful rules such as Open Standards, and removing obstacles such as software patents or monopolies in the software market.
