    Goals / Remit

Food Fermentation Europe acts as the unified voice representing the transformative fermentation food and food ingredient sector. We pursue an expeditious development and rollout of innovative fermentation technology and products to enable more sustainable food systems in Europe. We advocate for policies that support innovation, investment and remove market barriers for fermentation-enabled products. We act as a center of expertise for the sector with the aim to raise awareness and inform policy makers, stakeholders, media and the general public about the important role of fermentation and related processes in contributing to the economic, environmental and social aims of the EU and its global competitiveness. The founding companies are united in their pursuit to improve the current unsustainable food systems and are committed to mobilize a broad societal range of supporters to further what drives us: The firm belief that we have no time to waste to take courageous political action.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
