Goals / Remit
EUN Partnership - European Schoolnet (www.europeanschoolnet.org) (hereafter called EUN) is the network of 34 Ministries of Education from across Europe, leading educational innovation at European level. As a major international think tank, European Schoolnet operates key European services in education on behalf of member Ministries of Education, the European Commission, and industry partners. We act as the interface between education policy and practice, and as the facilitator of ‘the network of networks’ – bringing Ministries of Education, schools, research and industry into contact for fruitful exchange and collaboration.
Our mission and remit:
We are driven by our mission to support education stakeholders in Europe in the transformation of education processes for 21st century digitalized societies. We do this by focusing on: identifying and testing promising innovative practices; sharing evidence about their impact, and; supporting the mainstreaming of teaching and learning practices aligned with 21st century standards for the education of all students.
ICT and digitization are a particular focus of European Schoolnet's work, because of the critical role they play in terms of designing and implementing future classroom scenarios and supporting new forms of learning both in and out of school.
Our main objectives:
To support collaboration and cooperation among schools in Europe;
To support professional development of teachers and school heads;
To offer pedagogical and information services with European added value;
To disseminate good practice and investigate new models for schooling and learning;
To contribute to the development of technology-enhanced learning in schools;
To provide services, content and tools based on ICT to members and partners.Main EU files targeted

Regular contacts with the Commission are pursued under major EU funded projects and services coordinated by EUN, among which:
• Scientix: community for science education in Europe, which collects teaching and research materials from projects financed by the EU, to facilitate dissemination and sharing of know-how and best practices in STEM education.
• eTwinning (DG Education, Erasmus+): Central Support Service to promote school collaboration and networking in Europe through the use of ICT.
• On behalf of the European Union, EUN manages the School Education Gateway: http://www.schooleducationgateway.eu.
• INSAFE: European network of Awareness Centres promoting safe, responsible use of the Internet and mobile devices to young people, co-funded by the Safe Internet programme (now under the umbrella of the Better Internet for Kids).
• EU Code Week: EUN, together with GOAP Com., has been playing a crucial role in supporting scaling up EU Code Week since July 2018. Code Week is a grass-roots movement that celebrates creativity, problem-solving and collaboration through programming and the active use of technology.- Meetings
