Goals / Remit
The objects for which the company is established are:
a) To promote public education and research into: (i) the social, political, economic, ecological, environmental and health impacts of science and technology, especially new developments such as genetic engineering, synthetic biology, nanotechnology and geo-engineering, with particular focus on the risks involved in such new technologies and the need for regulation (ii) the role of the for-profit corporation, especially in agribusiness and GE biotechnology (iii) the vital importance of conserving biodiversity and using it sustainably and equitably and (iv) the social, environmental, psychological and spiritual impacts of climate change, the destruction of biodiversity and loss of civil rights and liberties.
b) To publish reports, conduct meetings, cultural events and seminars and undertake education and public outreach work in support of the above;
c) By means of the activities in (a) and (b) to support the efforts of organisations, groups or communities having similar aims, particularly in the developing world, and encourage the promotion of collaboration, human rights, social justice, and the sustainable and equitable use of natural resources;
d) To undertake the above (a-c) in a manner which takes full account of the views and policies of such organisations.Main EU files targeted
