True Animal Protein Price Coalition (TAPP Coalition)
EU Transparency Register

Goals / Remit
We are a coalition of health, farmers and youth, animal welfare and environmental organizations and food companies working towards introducing fair prices for meat and dairy, including environmental and other costs. We represent 0,6 million people. Our vision: Paying the true price of meat, dairy and other animal protein products becomes the standard way of operating for better health, environment, animal welfare and social justice in the EU and globally.
Our mission: To enhance the understanding of animal protein production and consumption and to promote the ‘true’ price of meat and dairy to protect health, the global environment and the ability to sustain life for future generations.
We are designing policy measures for a fair price of meat/dairy which reflects the 'true price', including the costs of environmental and health costs. The revenues of this 'fair price' can be used to make agriculture more sustainable and to compensate low incomes, and reduce the price of healthy foodMain EU files targeted
We target different EU legislative proposals like the EU Farm to Fork Strategy, Sustainable Food System Framework Law, fiscal policies for food products, EU climate policies and Agriculture policies.

Communication activities
Types of outreach towards EU institutions is writing letters/emails and other communication. For instance we organised an event in February 2021 in the EU parliament 'the true price of meat', we had a campaign and a petition on EU food prices and we publish reports, like 'Sustainability charge on meat'. We also organised the EU Food price debate, an online event. We asked the EU parliament to amend the EU farm to fork strategy with succes, on the topic of VAT tariffs for food products, and true pricing.
