Other financial info
WCRF International is the not-for-profit umbrella association that leads and unifies the WCRF network: it sets the overall strategic direction and project administration for the WCRF network members and provides benefits in the areas of science and research, education, fundraising, finance, strategic development, policy guidance and other services to assist them in achieving their mission. This enables the member organisations to have the best scientific evidence available worldwide at hand and to carry out their mission efficiently and cost effectively.
The member organisations are as follows:
World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF/WCRF UK)
Stichting Wereld Kanker Onderzoek Fonds (WKOF/WCRF NL)
American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR)
World Cancer Research Fund Hong Kong (WCRF HK)
WCRF International was created to maximize the potential of each national member, and by building a network of cancer charities, strengthen the global cancer prevention efforts and message. With the belief that greater impact can be achieved when allied organisations work together, WCRF International works to ensure that each of its member charities is in a stronger position than if it were operating in isolation.
Working together in this way means that our funds are spent more efficiently and that we are able to focus our efforts to make the biggest impact possible. The streamlined approach adopted by WCRF International enables each WCRF charity to benefit from shared knowledge and resources, and serves to avoid the unnecessary duplication of effort and expenditure. Ultimately, the work of WCRF International maximises the benefit of belonging to a network and enables members to carry out their mission effectively.
The member organisations fund WCRF International through contributions annually. WCRF International does not fundraise in any capacity nor fund research directly. -
