    The Committee to Protect Journalists is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes press freedom worldwide and defends the right of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal. CPJ ensures the free flow of news and commentary by taking action wherever journalists are attacked, imprisoned, killed, kidnapped, threatened, censored, or harassed.

    Attached is a copy of CPJ's Annual Report 2020 which includes an overall view of the organisation's work and global budget:

    The figure specified for the total budget (13.b above) is EUR 8,435,489. This is a rough equivalent to USD 10,235,789 (which is the figure from CPJ's latest annual report and includes the total expenditure for the organization in 2018). This budget is administered to staff and offices around the world.

    Please note however that the budget of the EU Representative in Brussels (and for those activities relating to the register) is between EUR 50,000 and EUR 99,999 (approximately EUR 85,000 a year).
