    Goals / Remit

Events in the Middle East have an impact on world peace and stability. Therefore, it is vital for all governments in Europe and North America to maintain vigilance and an active policy about the region. The rise of religious extremism and fundamentalism in the region is a serious threat to global peace and security and beyond any security measures it remains a strategic policy issue. Confronting the spread of Islamic fundamentalism requires working with and supporting democratic and moderate social and political actors in the region, and promotion of respect for human rights, democracy, individual freedom, religious tolerance and social justice. The primary focus of the Association will be policy on Iran on both sides of Atlantic.

    Main EU files targeted

Holding conferences, seminars, and other forms of debate or other forms of advocacy to promote its view points and objectives. Conducting research on political situation or more specific issues as required, producing white paper, reports or other form of publications in line with the objectives of the association. Communications with EU Institutions and Member States as well as other governments and international organizations as it requires.

We have been actively monitoring European Parliament’s activities and EU’s policies on conflict zones and we have advocated tougher measures on human right violators. We have also supported the fight against impunity and called for a firmer policy against terrorism.
In particular we campaigned for the adoption of the following EP resolutions in recent years:
