    Goals / Remit

BONO (www.bono.no) is the Norwegian Copyright Management Organisation for Visual Artists, and license, collect and distribute copyright remuneration for our Norwegian members, as well as international artists we represent through reciprocal agreements with our affiliates abroad.

BONO is in certain areas approved by the Ministry of Culture to license use of visual works and collects remuneration in Norway under the so called Extended Collective License Agreements (ECL). This is regulated in Article 57 (Broadcasting) and Article 50 (Archives, Libraries and Museums) in the Norwegian Copyright Act. In addition BONO is approved as the organization in Norway to collect and distribute Resale Right royalties, for all works that are resold and where the artist or rightholder is entitled to Resale Right royalties. In all of these instances BONO is authorized to collect remuneration also on behalf of non-members/non-represented artists.
