    Goals / Remit

Tideway is the organisation delivering the Thames Tideway Tunnel, on behalf of its owners at
Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd. Tideway currently employs more than 400 highly experienced professionals to
deliver the 25 kilometre super ewer tunnel needed to prevent an average 39 million tonnes each year
of untreated sewage discharging into the tidal River Thames in London.

While the River Thames is central to London's prosperity, Tideway's ambition is to not only clean up
the river, but to reconnect London with the Thames. The Thames Tideway Tunnel will not only
improve the environment, ecology, public health, appearance and reputation of London, but also give
a much-needed and immediate boost to the economy by creating many thousands of skilled jobs and
hundreds of apprenticeships in the construction and engineering field.
