    Goals / Remit

We work for coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians in the field of education and through negotiation on both sides, in the spirit of conflict resolution through strictly non-violent means.

According to our statutes, "Peace Lines is a non-confessional and non-partisan movement of citizens without borders, open to all free beings of good will. Their objective is to convey and spread messages and texts for peace between human beings, cities, peoples."

"The above-mentioned peace refers to the free circulation of people, ideas, and items transferred for the purpose of harmony between human beings. In this spirit, the members of Peace Lines commit themselves to summon their means to act in the aim of restoring and reinforcing peace where it is threatened."

    Communication activities

Translation and spreading of texts related to the Non-Violent Approach in conflict resolution.

    Other activities

    - Human Rights

We have participated in meetings organized by the DROI - Subcommittee on Human Rights, and been quoted as providing valuable information on the condition of Palestinian prisoners in the West Bank, based on regular visits there, and on interviews with prisoners and their families.

    - Open the Doors Campaign

In the frame of human rights, we campaign with MEPs and Nobel laureates for the end of the siege of Gaza, the mutual end of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, and the release of prisoners based strictly on humanitarian and legal grounds. This campaign received the support of 414 MEPs (54%) of the Parliament during the 7th Legislature, as well as 69 Nobel signatories.

This was at one point the potential basis for a Parliamentary Resolution, but we have decided to date not to make that move. We stay open to suggestions from MEPs on this subject.

    - Delegations

We have followed the works of both delegations, DPLC and DRI (Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council and the Delegation for relations with Israel).

    - Education

We intend to propose our Bilingual Experimental Programme (for spreading the principles and methods of non-violence in high schools and at university level) to CULT : Culture and Education, due to the interest expressed by MEPs.
