Goals / Remit
RECLAIM is an initiative founded in 2019 to counter democratic backsliding and the increasing disregard for human rights in Europe. Our mission is to ensure that civil rights groups, anti-corruption activists and independent media can continue to perform their role as democracy’s watchdogs and work to uphold and strengthen democracy and rule of law locally and internationally. Specifically, we work to: 1. Protect the standing and influence of human rights defenders by securing their access to relevant EU institutions. 2. Influence policies to widen space for civil society and improve media pluralism. 3. Support the strategic involvement of civil society in influencing policy development at the EU level.
