Goals / Remit
- play the role of professional representation in all cultural, scientific, technical, legal and legislative, for all that may concern the exercise of the library profession and the organization of library and documentation services;
- enhance and protect the dignity and the professional specificity of the librarian;
- promote, support and develop any useful action to ensure qualified vocational training;
- providing its members with scientific and technical support for continuing education;
- promoting the principles of ethics of the profession and to assure compliance;
- contribute in every home with the guidelines and the library policy choices and on intellectual property and access to information;
- promote the organization and development in Italy of libraries and of a library service that takes into account the needs of citizens.
