Goals / Remit
The Fire Safety Platform is a non-profit association established to help reduce the number of preventable fire deaths, fire injuries and fires particularly those in the home which accounts for 80% of all fires. Our mission is to create a safer living environment for all our citizens especially the most vulnerable and a safer working environment for our firefighters and emergency services. With an initial focus on the European Union, the Platform has the ambition to take its campaign for fire safety globally.

In pursuit of its mission, FSP will - Raise awareness about the underlying causes and real risk of fire deaths and injuries; - Make the case that it is our most vulnerable in the community who are at the highest risk; - Campaign for regulatory changes that reduce the fire risk both for individuals and professionals fighting fires or emergency services dealing with the results of fires; - Create an international network of individuals, professionals and regulators who share our ambitions; - Develop partnerships with fire and rescue services to promote innovation in fire safety and fire suppression; - Ensure that the Fire Safety Platform is sustainable, appropriately resourced and has a coherent strategy to achieve its objectives
