Lakes Paper: Recommendations for action for municipalities
The LIFE Blue Lakes Lakes Paper describes the causes of microplastic pollution, proposes measures to prevent microplastics and how citizens can be made aware of and informed about the problem. It is aimed at municipalities, districts, regional authorities and social groups and offers assistance by means of a catalogue of measures to prevent microplastics and a voluntary commitment to engage in the fight against microplastics.

EU LIFE Project "Responsible Sourcing" aims not only to further disseminate proven measures for the promotion of pollinating insects in agriculture, but also to resolutely break new ground. In Insect-Responsible Sourcing Regions, a positive ecological impact is no longer limited to the individual farm. Landscapes benefit holistically and the concept is transferable to many cultivation regions in Germany and the EU.

LIFE Clean Air Farming: Reducing Ammonia and Methane Emissions from Agriculture to Improve Air Quality and Climate Protection

Integrated urban-rural concept for the production of activated carbon and energy sources from residual biomass (CoAct): CoAct pursues the goal of converting residual biomasses available in Friedrichshafen and in the Lake Constance district into an energy carrier and activated carbon. The project will develop innovative governance arrangements that will facilitate the reconciliation of interests and the long-term coordination of relevant urban-rural actors.

COALESSCE (Community owned and led energy for security climate change and employment) aims to increase the capacity for community-based approaches to local renewable energy provision across Europe in order to reduce carbon emissions, increase energy security and tackle fuel poverty whilst driving ‘Green Growth’.

CSSC Lab (City Storage and Sector Coupling): The main objective of CSSC Lab is to familiarize the municipalities and smaller cities in the Danube region with innovative approaches to solutions in the field of sector coupling, i.e. the networking of power generation, primarily from renewable energy sources, with the main consumption sectors of heat and transport. This is intended to improve the energy security and energy efficiency of the smaller towns and municipalities in the Danube region and to increase their contribution to the achievement of the EU climate targets.

SocialRES (Together we make energy) promotes socially innovative enterprises, such as cooperatives, crowdfunding platforms and aggregators. This leads to higher citizen involvement and energy democracy.

European Business and Biodiversity Campaign: Motivation of companies to analize their impacts on biodiversity and to initiate a process of continuos improvement. Elaboration and promotion of practical tools such as Biodiversity Fact Sheets, Biodiversity Checks, cross sectoral biodiversity indicators, overview on methodologies of natural capital valuation.

Biodiversity criteria for standards and labels for the food industry: Analysis of the current situation, elaboration of recommendations, assessment of standard organisations and companies.

Managing Urban Europe and CHAMP: Sustainablity management for local governments and regional administrations. Elaboration and implementation. Input into the up coming ISO 37101 (Sustainability Management System for Communities).
