Cooperation across SET Plan Implementation Working Groups (IWGs) Workshop

As coordinator of the SET-IndEU project, on 24 April 2024, Zabala Innovation organised the workshop on “Cooperation across SET Plan Implementation Working Groups (IWGs) on the integration of electrical and thermal, renewable and low carbon, energy sources in industry” in Brussels at the European Commission premises. The event was attended by several high-level EC staff (Head of Units included), Chairs and Co-Chairs of each SET Plan IWG, their technical experts, as well as stakeholders from the industrial sectors and representatives of the European technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIPs). The workshop aimed at enhancing synergies and dialogue across IWGs, focusing on integrate renewable and low-carbon energy sources in industrial processes..

Large Scale partnership (LSPs) under the Pact 4 Skills on Digitalisation skills of the energy system launch on 14th December 2023. This is one of the LSPs created under the Pack4Skills – Renewable and digital Ecosystems. This event and the next ones held in the first half of 2024 were attended and followed by DG ENER, DG EMPL, DG GROW.

Energy Investors Dialogue

Zabala is subcontractor in a tender to support the European Commission in the Investors Dialogue which offers a platform for energy and finance experts to assess and upgrade relevant financing schemes. It has supported the management of the WG on heating and cooling and collected and re-elaborated inputs recommendations from experts on how public bodies can leverage private financing in heating and cooling. Some of the deliverables could be used by the Commission to feed the heat pump action plan, whose launch was however postponed.

Innovation Fund stakeholders’ consultation

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) have hosted some Stakeholder Consultation Events on the upcoming 2024 Innovation Fund Call for Proposals (IF24 Call). Zabala Innovation has participated in these events providing feedback for the next call on batteries and hydrogen auctions.
