As a European member state, Romania must implement the programs designed in the European Areas of Higher Education and Research and meet the objectives of the Union’s agenda. UNSTPB strategy seeks lifelong learning for EU citizens, improving the quality and efficiency of the education system, promoting social cohesion, active citizenship, and stimulating creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in education.
Being the most important Romanian University in engineering sciences domains, we conduct/are involved in research and educational activities according to the European Union's objectives on digitalization, innovation, inclusion, employment and sustainable development.
In line with the strategic plan to 2027, UNSTPB is interested in actively engaging in the following areas related to the Transparency Register:
EDUCATION: UNSTPB undertook to implement innovative didactic programmes through its departments and structures in all fields of study and to promote an open education approach.
DEVELOPMENT AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: With 38,000 students trained in 21 faculties, UNSTPB has followed its institutional development policy by establishing partnerships with other universities and research institutes, creating a stronger university with the possibility of tackling new areas or consolidating existing ones, such as digital economy and society, technology transfer, dual education. UNSTPB has adopted and encourages a culture of openness at all levels of activity as one of its main characteristics, in view of its sustainable growth and development.
RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGY: UNSTPB has focused on the European dimension as one of the most active participants in attracting European funds and had by 2020 approx. 2500 experts (teachers, researchers, teaching-auxiliary staff), having completed or undergoing over 200 projects in the field of sustainable development, digitalization and human resources, of which 41 Horizon 2020 projects.
REGIONAL POLICY: UNSTPB is an active influencer that gathers around it the main representative stakeholders within society, being an indicator and giving guidelines for societal evolution. Our university has a tradition of over 20 years in promoting the European dimension, student exchanges and encouraging cooperation between academic institutions from participating countries. UNSTPN is an active member in the Danube regional policy.
DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT: The vision of UNSTPB is to participate in building a Digital Europe through Cloud, Common European Data Spaces, AI, Cyber Security and to contribute to the development of the digital economy and society at the national level. As an active member in EOSC, in AgriDataSpace and in many projects funded by the Digital programme or Horizon Europe, UNSTPB will create a Competence Center for Smart Cities, a National Hub for Data Security, and a Smart Innovation Hub. UNSTPB is the host of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), that addresses EU investments in cybersecurity capabilities.
YOUTH: UNSTPB prioritizes the imperative need for students to gain transferable skills and competencies. The world, for which students are prepared, is characterized by changing status in contracts, jobs and occupations. In addition, the world is experiencing complex global mobility, so that new entrants need innovative and creative skills to meet the different challenges posed by this global system. To achieve all this, NUSTPB offers a large number of academic development opportunities to students through different mobility programs and scholarship programs, one of our main priorities being to help students adapt to the international labor market.
We are one of the main Erasmus+ beneficiaries in the country, attracting a significant percentage of national funding for student mobility programmes.Address
