Goals / Remit
The International Union of Property Owners – Union Internationale de la Propriété Immobilière A.S.B.L. (UIPI) is the leading pan-European non-profit association of both homeowners and private landlords in Europe.
Founded in 1923 in Paris, UIPI comprises 31 organisations from 28 countries which, jointly, represent more than 6 million private property in Europe.
The interests of the sector we represent correspond to the concerns and needs of a substantial part of the European population. As shown by Eurostat, almost 70% of EU citizens are owner-occupiers, whereas almost another 20% of the population is housed in the private rented sector.Main EU files targeted

Communication activities
UIPI regularly organises events related to EU policy and EU agenda. Our newsletter and internal communication channels allow us to keep our national, regional and local associations aware of EU policy developments.
We also publishes comparative studies on legal issues related to property rights or real estate taxation in EU member states and conduct surveys to contribute to the public debate.
UIPI organises annually a "Property Day", an event dedicated to issues relevant for property owners.
We are also organising a Renovation Tour across Europe to raise awareness about EU policy on energy efficiency and sustainability in the building sector. These events take place at least twice and year and are organised with the support of our national members. They provide a platform to foster exchanges between individual property owners and EU, national and local policy-makers. They are also the occasion to share best practice examples.
UIPI is also a partner in several EU-funded projects that aim to improve the sustainability of the European building stock. UIPI objectives is to raise awareness help property owners to tackle the problem of high-energy consumption in buildings.
UIPI holds a biennial Congress.Other activities

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
