Goals / Remit
The Rediscovery Centre is the National Centre for the Circular Economy in Irel&. The goals are to prevent waste, generate jobs & inspire sustainable living. A creative movement connecting people, ideas & resources to support greener low-carbon living. The work focuses on three main themes - Demonstration, Education & Advocacy. Bringing together the skills & expertise of artists, scientists, designers & craftspeople united in a common purpose of sustainability, we support CE policy implementation at a national & European level. Located in a bespoke demonstration eco-facility, we support four reuse social enterprises; businesses that use unwanted materials for new product development & design demonstrating effective resource efficiency, reuse & low carbon living. The Rediscovery Centre is an accredited education centre & carries out translational research activities which support national waste prevention & climate action policy & advocate for a more resilient & equitable society.

The Rediscovery Centre is a creative movement connecting people to support the Circular Economy - As such, we collaborate with Academic, Government and Community Organisations to complete our mission.
We run a national academy for social enterprises seeking assistance to develop their entropies and embrace circularity. The Rediscovery Centre business model seeks to generate 50% income from sales and services associated with activities of our of social enterprises, education delivery and community development. The other 50% is sought through Strategic partnerships, grants and Funding. 2018, being the most recently financial audited year, was unusual in that the level of research carried out was higher than normal due to participation in a large EU Life funded project (WISERLIFE.EU) and complementary projects ongoing that year
