Vision: IHE Institute for Water Education envisions a world in which people manage their water resources sustainably and in which all sectors of society, particularly the poor, can enjoy the benefits of basic water services. Through generating and sharing excellent and novel knowledge, training the future water leaders, establishing networks and building capacity all over the world.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Institute is to contribute to the education and training of professionals and to build the capacity of sector organizations, knowledge centres and other institutions active in the fields of water, the environment and infrastructure in developing countries and countries in transition.

People indicated in the statistics are direcly involved in the activities under heading 9, however more academic staff members have often ad hgoc participation in policy fora because they are engaged in many EU research funded project and as such they participate in these events

The income of IHE Delft originates from three main sources:  Base funding from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.  Tuition fees received for MSc, PhD and short-course (module) students (regular programmes).  Project revenue (one-off programmes).
