Since its founding, SETE has developed a strong presence and become active on the European and international tourism scene through its cooperation with prominent tourism agencies abroad. It is invited to and participates in international meetings, boards and committees, representing the Greek tourism sector.

SETE has been an active member of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) since 1997, and held the Chair of the Affiliate Members Board of Directors from March 2012 to the end of 2013. About 500 tourism organisations, businesses and universities from 80 countries with more than 1 million employees take part as Affiliate Members, while one in five members are active on all five continents. The main goal of the Affiliate Members is to promote the cooperation between public and private sectors in supporting tourism development and advancing and disseminating expertise with regard to tourism. UNWTO is the official specialised agency on tourism of the United Nations.

SETE takes part in the OECD's Tourism Committee as a member of the Greek delegation. The OECD monitors macroeconomic variables in tourism, while also making recommendations on policies that influence or even determine development and funding programmes.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
