Goals / Remit
Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe was founded in 1971 by Pauline Schwarzkopf. The Schwarzkopf Foundation, a non-partisan organisation, strives to empower young people from all backgrounds to be active European citizens who contribute to a pluralistic, democratic society of mutual understanding, solidarity and peaceful collaboration across Europe. With our work to empower young people, we seek to promote a pan-European understanding and combat right-wing extremism, anti-Semitism and racism.
Young people contribute to European cohesion and play a crucial role in shaping pluralistic societies. That is why we create spaces for young people to develop political awareness and visions for the society they want to live in. We offer young people opportunities to meet, exchange knowledge, grow and actively participate.
With a wide range of programmes and projects, we advocate for an open, solidarity-based and democratic Europe.Main EU files targeted
We regularly coordinate and participate in commission funded projects as well as the program’s Key Action 1: Mobility of individual; and Key Action 3: Support for Policy reform. We are also an accredited hosting organisation for the European Solidarity Corps (previously European Voluntary Service).

Communication activities
We regularly invite commissioners and MEPs to join our events, to engage in a discussion with young people. This way, we hope to offer them a platform to hear what young Europeans thinks about many current European topics, so that they can take these viewpoints and opinions into account. We do aim to make the voice of youth heard in political decision making, and although we do not engage in direct advocacy as an organisation, we certainly offer our participants a channel to engage themselves, and engage in dialogue with European decision-makers.
One of our main event formats are European Youth Parliament sessions, gathering young people from all over Europe to discuss current European topics. At these events, our young participants work in committees following the committees of the European Parliament, each discussing one current topic within their policy field. The outcome of these discussions are presented in the form of resolutions, which are debated and voted on in a plenary setting. Each year, several hundred different sessions are organized, each covering 6-15 topics and resolutions. From our biggest and main sessions each year, we send the results and the approved resolutions to European Commissioners and MEPs. This gives the EU-level politician an insight into what young European think about current topics and issues. This is one of our main ways to indirectly influence policy making and make the opinions of youth heard.
We have regularly organized direct exchanges with European Commissioners at our past events.
We regularly coordinate and participate in commission funded Erasmus+ projects in the scope of the program’s Key Action 3: Support for Policy reform. Again, by enabling a dialogue between EU-level politicians and young people through these projects, we indirectly influence policy making.
The best overview of our activities and projects can be found on our website on http://schwarzkopf-stiftung.de/en/

Meetings
2 meetings found. Download meetings
The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
