Goals / Remit
Savannah Resources Plc is the sole owner of the Barroso Lithium Project, in northern Portugal. The Project contains the most significant spodumene lithium resource in Western Europe. Following a positive Scoping Study which outlined a conventional mine and concentrator operation, Savannah has been progressing with the development and licencing of the Project. A Definitive Feasibility Study is underway, and Portugal’s environmental regulator is evaluating Savannah’s Environmental Impact Assessment study on the Project.
Developing and operating the Barroso Project will establish Savannah, and Portugal, as an integral part of Europe’s rapidly growing lithium battery value chain which is being established to support Europe’s energy transition as it moves towards its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. The Barroso Project will produce enough lithium each year for approximately 0.5 million electric vehicle battery packs.Main EU files targeted

Meetings
3 meetings found. Download meetings
The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
