Goals / Remit
Reset Tech's mission is to reset the connection between media and democracy in order to support democratic publics that are more informed and less divided. We seek to neutralize the threats posed to democracy by digital media monopolies and restore the power of information technology as a force for effective self-government. We do this work by developing and promoting new ideas to change public policy, industry standards, and consumer attitudes. We engage in direct advocacy with governments, support public campaigns to raise awareness, and fund research and technology to shed light on the problem and point to solutions.
Main EU files targeted
Policy development and legislation pertaining to democracy and digital media platforms, including issues of risk assessment related to public safety, security and election integrity; data privacy; competition; and digital literacy. For example, we are engaged on:
- Digital Services Act (implementation)
- Digital Markets Act (implementation)
- AI Act (implementation)
- E-privacy
- Digital advertisingAddress

8 meetings found. Download meetings
The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
