Informal Roundtable on European Mobility Unicorns CEOs and Founders

    The Objective of the Meeting:
The primary objective of this gathering is to facilitate an exchange between CEOs and founders of Europe's most prominent mobility unicorns on the challenges and opportunities that our dynamic industry faces. Unicorns, often operating across multiple Member States, grapple with issues that transcend national boundaries, and as such, have the potential to address these challenges at the EU level. Our collective aim is to lay the foundation for a unified, innovative, and sustainable transport ecosystem that fosters growth and prosperity for all.

This meeting is an occasion for Commissioner Vălean to listen attentively to the needs and aspirations of European transportation unicorns, bridging the gap between policymakers and the industry's innovators. A possible outcome of our discussions is the establishment of an informal group of EU transport unicorns, which will work closely with the European Commission to provide concrete ideas for spurring innovation within the realm of transportation throughout the European Union.

    Purpose of the Meeting:
The meeting on November 29, 2023, marks the inception of a cooperative dialogue between the European Commission and prominent unicorn leaders, CEOs and founders. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for March 2024, where a document containing concrete recommendations will be presented to Commissioner Vălean. This document can inform the EU’s priorities on transport innovation after the European Elections. These gatherings are designed to complement each other, ensuring a cohesive and well-structured effort that produces tangible results.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
