Goals / Remit
NCS works continuously to improve society’s attitude to the prevention and treatment of cancer. We fight cancer locally, nationally and globally through research and preventive measures, information, support, advice and advocacy.
In addition to cancer prevention and Control, we work in partnership With sister organisations and policy and decision makers for the prevention and Control of non-communicable diseases by addressing risk factors and the social and Commercial determinants of Health.Main EU files targeted
Implementation of the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), process for the revision of the EU TPD and adoption and implementation of a New EU Tax Directive, EU Advertising Directive, Smoke-Free environment. This is done primarily via Smoke Free Partnership. NCS is also generally concerned with the implementation of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan and Mission on Cancer.
