Goals / Remit
Finnish Steel and Metal Producers is the voice of the Finnish Steel and Metal producers and major metal recyclers in Europe. With an annual turnover of €13 bn, our members represent an essential part of the European machine- and construction value chain and employ directly and indirectly some 50 000 people in Finland. FSMP producers manufacture and process steel and copper products, as well as refined steel, zinc and nickel, to meet the needs of the metal goods, machinery, transport equipment, construction, electronics and electrotechnical industries. Together with the European mining and recycling industry, we are leading Europe towards a more circular future through the endlessly recyclable potential of metals. In Finland over 90 % of the steel recovered from discarded products is reused, and 80 % of the copper made in the world ever is recycled. The member companies employ globally some 35 000 people, of which ca. 16 000 in Finland.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
