Goals / Remit
Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) is the umbrella organisation representing producers and suppliers of rigid metal packaging across Europe. It was created so that its member companies, who are active in respectively APEAL (Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging), BCME (Beverage Can Makers Europe), EAA (European Aluminium Association) and Empac (European Metal Packaging), can contribute more effectively to sustainable developments and resource efficiency, acting as a unified sector involving all parties in the chain.
The Metal Packaging Europe membership covers more than 300 manufacturing sites, employing over 350,000 people. 75% of member companies are small and medium-sized enterprises. Together, they produce some 85bn units every year for the beverage, food, health & beauty, household and industrial markets. This means that on average 4 units are consumed weekly by every EU citizen.Main EU files targeted
