Goals / Remit
MPOC’s mission is to promote the market expansion of Malaysian palm oil and its products by enhancing the image of palm oil and creating better acceptance of palm oil through awareness of various technological and economic advantages (techno-economic advantages) and environmental sustainability.
MPOC’s Objectives are -
• To enhance trade opportunities in the market place by identifying and meeting the latest opportunities in the market.
• To encourage product diversification by using Malaysian palm oil as the key ingredient, thus gaining a prominent role in new and reformulated products.
• To improve understanding of palm oil, enhancing its application and elucidating its numerous strengths and benefits.
• To uphold the good name of Malaysian palm oil by closing the gap between the issues of perception, allegations and the realities of palm oil.
• To safeguard Malaysian palm oil as the most dominant vegetable oil in terms of market coverage, nutritional benefits, environmental sustainability and commercial success.Main EU files targeted

MPOC is governed by a Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed from various stakeholders within the Malaysian palm oil industry. The Members of the Board of Trustees are representatives from:-
a. The Ministry of Plantation Industries & Commodities Malaysia (MPIC)
b. Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA)
c. Malayan Edible Oil Manufacturers' Association (MEOMA)
d. The Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA)
e. Palm Oil Millers’ Association (POMA)
f. Palm Oil Refiners’ Association of Malaysia (PORAM)
g. National Association of Smallholders (NASH)
h. Sarawak Land Consolidation & Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA); and
i. The Malaysian Palm Oil Industry (from Sabah)
The authority to appoint a trustee is held by Minister of MPIC. Such appointment is effective for a period of two years, except the position of Chairman, which is for a period of three years. All re-appointments are subject to approval by the Minister.
