    Communication activities

On 19-20 November 2024, the 2024 edition of the High level Workshop of Science Europe, this time on the European Research Area, was held in Budapest, Hungary, under the auspices of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and with the support of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation as co-host of the event. Alongside Science Europe and the Hungarian Research Network HUN-REN, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was also involved as a co-organiser. The more specific theme of the event was "Strengthening European Cohesion and Competitiveness through Research and Innovation: the Science Agenda for European Progress in a Global Context". The workshop also featured on the programme of the World Science Forum 2024 running from 20 to 23 November 2024 in Budapest as one of its many side events. The High Level Workshop event focussed on the most timely questions of competitiveness of the European Research and Innovation system, with special attention to widening the participation of all EU member states and associated countries to European Research and Innovation actions, enhancing the impact of R and I by mobilising EU-wide excellence in science, reducing R and I disparities in Europe, exploring the benefits of artificial intelligence in science policy and address European research competitiveness from a global perspective. The themes were aligned with Science Europe's strategic priority towards shaping European research policy developments.

The list below covers meetings with Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general (high-level) Commission meetings published December 2014 to December 2024, and the meetings of Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general and officials holding "management functions" in the Commission published since 1 January 2025. Other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may well have taken place, but the Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. All information below comes from the Commission and not from the registrant.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
