Goals / Remit
IWDU is an association dedicated to the advancement of women and the promotion of important women-related issues inside the global centre-right party family. The association consists of female members of likeminded parties. IWDU provides female leaders with possibilities for networking, empowerment, enhanced visibility and encourage women to take political offices.
Main EU files targeted
The IWDU is mainly concerned with the EU Commission's Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025, as well as with the following E.U. Commission proposals and policies:
-Push for the adoption of the 2012 proposal for a Directive on improving the gender balance on corporate boards, which set the aim of a minimum of 40% of non-executive members of the under-represented sex on company boards;
-Promote the participation of women as voters and candidates in the 2024 European Parliament elections;
-Promote EU Platform of Diversity Charters in all sectors;
-Reach gender parity (50%) at all levels of Commission's management by the end of 2024 and increase efforts towards reaching a larger share of female managers in EU agencies.Address

Communication activities
To pursue our policy-related goals, the IWDU will organize a delegation to Brussels on March 3-6, 2024, which will include planned meetings with E.U. dignitaries, including European Commissioner Dubravka Šuica, as well as members of the European Parliament such as Eva Maydell and Miriam Lexmann. This is the reason for this registration application.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
