Goals / Remit
International Diplomatic Council of Tamileelam is to end the occupation and colonization of our homeland by Sri Lanka and to restore the independence of Tamil Eelam as a secular, pluralist and democratic republic guaranteeing the rights of the man and freedom for all.
a) achieve a just, lasting and peaceful solution to the Tamil Eelam question based on the resolutions of the United Nations.
(b) to promote economic and social development in the Tamil territories occupied by the State of Sri Lanka.
c) ensure respect for international conventions and charters for the protection and promotion of human and children's rights with regard to Tamils. The association will collaborate, to achieve its objectives, closely with the United Nations Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Tamil People and with the International Coordinating Committee of NGOs on the question of Tamil Eelam.Main EU files targeted
EU relations with Sri Lanka. Our aim is to shed light and expose the human rights abuses in Sri Lanka and the spreading militarization of Tamil Eelam by the Sinhalese regime. We plead for EU relations with Sri Lanka to be conditional on the improvement of human rights and the right to self-determination of Tamil Eelam.
