    Communication activities

Since 2004, the IBA's European Regional Forum has been developing and strengthening the existence of the IBA within Europe by promoting its goals to both members and non-members, disseminating professional know-how, and assisting committees and other constituencies of the IBA.

Survey on implementation of the EU Shareholders’ Rights Directive II in the EU:

The IBA Securities Law Committee has, together with law firms from the 28 EU Member States, conducted a survey in order to compare the national implementation of the EU Shareholders’ Rights Directive II in those jurisdictions.

The IBA's Legal Policy and Research Unit had earlier submitted a reflection paper to the European Union, as part of a consultation on the rule of law. The EU asked all stakeholders for their views about existing mechanisms for strengthening compliance and dealing with rule of law breaches by Member States. The IBA's response, drafted with the assistance of the Oxford Programme on International Peace and Security, reiterates its commitment to promoting the rule of law through a variety of means.

In Brussels, the IBA had co-hosted a half-day roundtable with the European Commission and the International Labour Organization on topic of workplace bullying and sexual harassment.

    Meetings

    4 meetings found. Download meetings

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
