    El Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid es una Corporación de Derecho Público, cuyo ámbito se extiende a todo el territorio de la Comunidad de Madrid, a excepción del que, según Ley, corresponde al Colegio de Abogados de Alcalá de Henares.

    Entre sus funciones esenciales están: la ordenación del ejercicio de la profesión de Abogado; la representación exclusiva de la Abogacía; la defensa de los derechos e intereses profesionales de los Colegiados; velar por la satisfacción de los intereses generales relacionados con el ejercicio de la profesión de Abogado; promover la constante mejora de la calidad de las prestaciones profesionales de los colegiados mediante la formación profesional permanente; cooperar en la mejora de los estudios que conducen a la obtención de los títulos habilitantes para el ejercicio de la profesión de Abogado; el control deontológico y la aplicación del régimen disciplinario en garantía de la sociedad; colaborar con las Administraciones Públicas.
