    Goals / Remit

The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction was created in 2003 by Holcim as an independent legal entity to raise awareness of the important role that architecture, engineering, urban planning and the building industry have in achieving a more sustainable future.

It is the mission of the Foundation to select and support initiatives that combine sustainable construction solutions with architectural excellence and enhanced quality of life beyond technical solutions. Through the non-commercial promotion and development of sustainable construction at national, regional, and global levels, the Holcim Foundation encourages sustainable responses to the technological, environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural issues affecting building and construction.

    Main EU files targeted

The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction follows the activities of EU institutions principally relating to climate change (eg: EU ETS), energy (eg: Energy Efficiency in Buildings Directive), circular economy (eg: Waste Framework Directive), environment (incl. waste, biodiversity & industrial emissions), innovations (eg: Innovation Fund & HorizonsEurope), and Sustainable Finance. The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction follows initiatives under the European Green Deal (eg: Circular Economy Action Plan, the Renovation Wave, the EU Industrial strategy).

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
