Goals / Remit
Established nearly 40 years ago, France Invest brings together venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and private debt teams based in France, as well as the associated professions which support them. Its membership currently counts roughly 440 management firms and 200 associate members.
In 2023, French private equity and infrastructure players invested €31 billion in 2,700 companies and infrastructure projects. They raised €33 billion from investors, half of which abroad (just under one third at EU level excluding France), which will be invested over the next 5 years. In addition to that, in 2023, private debt players invested €14 billion in 387 transactions and raised €10 billion that will finance new transactions in the coming years.
European companies, in particular start-ups and SMEs, are the main recipients of our members’ investments. Over the 2017- 2022 period, over 330 000 jobs were created in companies backed by French venture capital and private equity.Main EU files targeted
France Invest is particularly interested in the development of the Capital Markets Union, the AIFMD review, the ELTIF Regulation as well as retail investment. Our members are concerned by sustainable finance regulation (Disclosure, Taxonomy, CSRD, CS3D…) and taxation (DEBRA, VAT…). We also work on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing, State Aid Rules on Risk finance for SMEs as well as the review of the Solvency directive, and regulations on insolvency, cybersecurity (DORA) and data (ESAP).

Meetings

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
