    Goals / Remit

    According to the FPU Statutes, its purpose is to express, represent and defend the rights of the affiliates, coordinate their collective actions, promote the unity of the trade union movement, represent and protect the labour, social and economic rights and interests of the trade unions they unite in public authorities, other state institutions and organisations, in local self-government bodies, in relations with employers, their organisations and associations, as well as with other associations of citizens.

    The main tasks of the FPU are to protect labour, social and economic rights and interests; protection of workers’ rights to health and safety; legal protection of trade union members; upholding the spiritual, social and cultural rights and interests of trade union members and their families.

    The FPU works with different sub-regional and transnational forums and networks, such as Pan-European Regional Council, European Economic and Social Committee, UN ECOSOC.
