Goals / Remit
Since 1989, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) has provided the standard for resuscitation guidelines and training in Europe and beyond. Comprising 33 National Resuscitation Councils, the ERC's principal activities are:
Science:
The ERC is a member of the International Liaison Committee On Resuscitation (ILCOR), where ERC experts contribute actively to the worldwide Consensus On Science and Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR). The ERC also supports and initiates scientific studies related to resuscitation. Resuscitation is the official journal of the ERC.
Guidelines:
Based on the CoSTR, the ERC publishes European Resuscitation Guidelines that are the standard for resuscitation practice and training in and beyond Europe.
Training:
A network of National Resuscitation Councils, Course Organisers, Course Directors and Instructors provide resuscitation training for lay rescuers and health professionals. The ERC defines the standard for the delivery of high (...)Main EU files targeted
Our primary goal is to advance the cause of CPR training and awareness for the greater benefit of society. We would like to focus on 2 main things and have an influence in the field of European policy and regulation.
- CPR in the Workplace: We believe that legislation EU level and its revision present an ideal platform for advocating the compulsory inclusion of CPR training in workplaces. Our ability to successfully communicate this message could be considerably improved by your experience with EU-level regulations. We would put our focus on influencing the safety and health (at the workplace) directive.
- Education: We are actively exploring opportunities to integrate mandatory CPR training into education curriculums, reaching a broader audience. This includes collaborations with schools/higher education (ex. Universities, etc.) and institutions as well as our ongoing partnership with the European Driving Schools Associations. We would put our focus on the Directive of Driving Licenses.Address

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
