    Goals / Remit

The European Regulation and Innovation Forum is an expert-led and not-for-profit Think Tank with the aim of promoting high quality risk assessment and risk management decisions by the EU institutions, and raising the awareness of risk management issues at EU-level.

In order to achieve this, the Forum applies the expertise of a well-established network of experts to ‘horizontal’, cross-sectoral issues. In particular, it addresses regulatory decision-making structures, tools and processes, as well as the risks and benefits of new and emerging technologies, of climate change, and of lifestyle choices.

    Main EU files targeted

The European Regulation and Innovation Forum has a number of initiatives currently ongoing including:

    - Events and the drafting of policy papers on the role of science in regulatory decision-making.
    - The articulation and promotion of good practices in strengthening Better Regulation processes.
-- Events and the drafting of policy papers on the establishment of a Law on Administrative Procedures in the EU to enhance the transparency of the regulatory process at EU level.
    - The promotion of the 'Innovation Principle' through events an policy notes to ensure that the EU maintains a regulatory environment conducive to innovation and growth.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
