The European Accounting Association (EAA) is an academic association that supports high-quality accounting research, teaching and knowledge exchange with practice by providing a platform that enables accounting academics to develop themselves and benefit society through their activities.

While currently our main activity is with DG FISMA and its expert committee on the evaluation of the IAS Regulation, we do also respond, as occasion demands, to calls from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). We also interact regularly with the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) - related to but not an EU institution. Our Financial Reporting Standards Committee (consisting of one chair and four members) is the main vehicle for collective interaction with European bodies concerned with financial reporting.
