    Goals / Remit

Ecocem is a leading provider of high performance low carbon cement technologies in Europe. It has been operating for approximately 20 years and its modus operandi has been to provide Ground Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) to the construction industry as an alternative to traditional cement. Ecocem has provided Europe's lowest carbon cement used at scale and is provides low carbon solutions to many of Europe's largest projects.

Through its highly successful innovation programme, Ecocem has created new products that have the potential to reduce the global footprint of the cement industry by up to 70%. It is with these new products in mind that Ecocem is engaging with the EU in order to explain the benefits of accelerating their progress through the convoluted standards systems.

    Communication activities

We have undertaken very little in this respect to date other than participating in wider discussions or speaking with individuals. However, in order to educate the political community of the difficulties in bringing low carbon cements to the market, we will be increasing our participation in events and think tanks.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
