    Three people are full time employed at Saab's EU Affairs' and NATO office in Brussels to work on EU legislative and policy initiatives and other specific EU matters. In addition, several people within Saab's organisation is partly working on EU initiatives as well as work-programmes, R&D and R&T calls that are of relevance to Saab's activities in both EU and NATO.     Saab was a leading partner to the OCEAN2020 Consortia for the first EU demonstrator launched under the EU PADR.
    Saab was a leading stakeholder and partner to the European Commission's launch of the Pact for Skills initiative for the ASD Eco-System.

    Saab holds regular thematic seminars and workshops with a wide range of stakeholders at EU and national levels with a view to promote continous and better understanding of the functioning of the Swedish, Nordic and European defence industrial base, innovation, competitiveness and sustainability within the defence industry as well as the importance of facts-based, legally and economically sound EU legislation, policy and other initiatives for European defence industrial eco-system. This is fundamental for a Level Playing Field across the internal market.

    Saab has established itself as the only European Defence Company that is holding a High-Level Annual European Defence and Security Seminar in Brussels addressing critical topics, initiatives and policy issues of relevance to the European defence industrial and technological base, the Member States and the EU institutions as well as other important stakeholders in the European security and defence landscape. In 2024, Saab will hold its 16th Annual Seminar.

    Saab is also active in seminars, work-shops and expert groups organised by the European Commission, the EDA, the European Council and the European Parliament as well as NATO.

    Saab is moreover active and a pro-active stakeholder as a member within the Aerospace and Defence Industries Asssociation of Europe (ASD) and its work and voice in relation to the EU institutions and other important organisations, authorities and stakeholders. Saab President and CEO, Micael Johansson, is currently the vice-chair of the ASD Board.
