    Main EU files targeted

    The Damen Shipyards group actively participates in various Horizon 2020 projects through the co-programmed partnership on zero-emission waterborne transport. This is a co-program partnership between the European maritime industry and the European Commission (DG RTD)

    Damen Naval (the military department of the Damen Shipyards Group) is active in various projects of the European Defence Fund (DG DEFIS)

    Damen closely monitors the European Defense Industry Strategy (EDIS published in March 2024)

    Together with our European Trade Association SEA Europe, Damen strives for a 'European Maritime Industrial Strategy' in order to safeguard high-tech shipbuilding capabilities for Europe and to sustain our strategic autonomy.

    We closely follow the developments of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and the Fuel EU Maritime Directive.
    Together with SEA Europe Damen wishes the European Trading Scheme revenues from shipping to be re-invested in the decarbonization of ships in order to live up to the Green Deal targets.
