Goals / Remit
Compassion in World Farming advocates an end to industrial factory farming of animals and aims to achieve humane and sustainable farming and food systems.
We produce edutcational and information materials and do advocacy and campaign work.
We were actively involved in achieving recognition of animals as sentient beings in the Treaty and in achieving EU Directives banning veal crates for calves, barren battery cages for laying hens and a partial ban on sow stalls for pregnant sows.Main EU files targeted
