Goals / Remit
The FSE is a network of national and regional associations, guilds and unions of writers for the screen in Europe, created in June 2001. In 2011, it comprises 25 members from 19 countries, representing 6,000 writers in Europe.
Quoted from the statutes of the FSE:
- The defence of freedom of expression and artistic creation within the audiovisual field.
- The defence and protection of national cultural identity and diversity of members in the audiovisual
field.
- The promotion of scriptwriters' work.
- The defence and protection of moral and pecuniary rights and interests of scriptwriters, acting in all
sectors of the audiovisual field.
- The harmonisation of Intellectual Property legislation at European level and within the member states
of European Union on the most favorable terms for scriptwriters.
- The development of a cooperation network with natural or legal entities, of private or public nature,
which develop similar activities in the audiovisual field.
